MOBOTIX 7
Until now, surveillance has been – primarily – driven by the need to watch and capture events. The better quality the picture, the higher the chances of accurate evidence. But, surveillance has, and continues to change.
MOBOTIX AG, the leading manufacturer of decentralised CCTV systems has opened up the possibility of on-camera apps with the new MOBOTIX 7 platform. The first release in this new line-up, the powerful MOBOTIX M73, adds a whole new meaning to the term “modular”.
Focus on Cyber Security
MOBOTIX cameras are “high-performance computers with eyes”. All image analysis and recording happens inside the camera, in real-time. Images and clips are transmitted to the network only when relevant events occur. By having this process on the edge it removes the dependency on a single point of failure (the network/digital video recorder in centralised systems).
Cyber security is, of course, a priority for any business and MOBOTIX are no exception with comprehensive implementation through the unique Cactus Concept, certifications include best-practice for cyber security from the French testing institute CNPP (Center National de Prévention et de Protection). Data security is also viewed in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as a fundamentally important issue.
Open to New Ideas
Each individual MOBOTIX camera is a complete video system. Equipped at the factory, through the custom built software, with high-quality free video analysis tools, meant that they could be operated without licenses or video servers. The MOBOTIX 7 platform opens this ecosystem to app developers to design and build a completely customised system alongside the 19 pre-built apps “baked” in the operating system.
