XGS Series

small_img_xgs_4528f_p_01.jpgThe ZyXEL Gigabit Switch 4500 Series consists of three models: the XGS-4528F, XGS-4728F and the XGS-4526.  Both switches are intelligent multilayer (2-4) Ethernet switches that provide flexible performance choices - 10/100/1000 Mbps and 10 Gbps speeds, along with enterprise-class availabilit, resiliency and a redundant architecture.  With full Layer-3 features, the ZyXEL 4500 series is a preferred choice for real routing networks in the enterprise network.

Variety

The XGS-4528F and XGS-4728F features a unique design, sporting 24 Gigabit dual-personality ports (copper or fibre), 2 built-in 12G stacking interfaces, and 1 open slot for the optional 10-Gigabit uplink port module, the XGS-4528F & XGS-4728F provides maximum deployment flexibility.

By contrast the XGS-4526 provides 20 1000Base-T ports, 4 Gigabit dual-personality ports, and 1 open slot for the 10Gb uplink module.  The XGS-4526 is ideal for small and medium enterprises looking for high performance.

Key Benefits

Managed Layer 2 & Layer 3 Gigabit Connectivity

Providing wirespeed L-2 Gigabit switching of up to 144Gbps along with advanced L-3 switching, multicasting, resiliency including dynamic routing protocols (OSPF), VRRP (Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol) for connectivity requirements.  Four flexible speeds provide flexibility for core networks or high-performance scenarios.

Unique Hardware Design

Unlike many other offerings in the same market, the XGS-4528F (and XGS-4728F) provides 24 Dual Personality Gigabit Ethernet Copper and Fibre connectivity in a 1U chassis.  This unique design gives network designers and administrators flexibile deployment and management options with a lower cost of ownership.

Intelligent QoS for Mission Critical Applications

As the demand for network based applications grows the quality of service applied to these mission critical applications needs to be flexible and easy to manage.  Taking advantage of Class of Service, Differentiated Servics Code Point (DSCP), administrators can easily classify and perform traffic prioritization for mission critical apps such as VoIP and Video Conferencing.
