 The ZyXEL Gigabit Switch 4000 Series consists of five models, all the switches are intelligent multilayer (2-4) Ethernet switches that provide flexible performance choices - 10/100/1000 Mbps and 10 Gbps speeds, along with enterprise-class availabilit, resiliency and a redundant architecture. With full Layer-3 features, the ZyXEL 4000 series is a preferred choice for real routing networks in the enterprise network.

Each of the ZyXEL 4000 Series switches combines industry leading technology with sleek functional design. Combining Gigabit Copper and multiple SFP ports (XGS-4528 & XGS-4728 models have 24), 12 Gb stacking slot and optional 10 Gb uplink module, the ZyXEL 4000 Series switches take the role of core switches within a moderate budget.
Managed Layer 2 and 3 Gigabit Connectivity
Each ZyXEL 4000 Series switch provides wirespeed Layer 2 Gigabit switching of up to 144 Gbps enhancing producivity across the network core.

Unlike many popular offerings in the switch market, the XGS series (4528 & 4728) sports 24 dual personality copper & fibre connectivity in a 1U chassis, saving space in the network cabinet.
Intelligent QoS
As the demand for network based applications grows, the quality of service applied to ensure these mission critical apps needs to be flexible and easy to manage. Taking advantage of Class of Service (CoS), Differentiated Services Code Point (DSCP), network admins can easily classify and prioritise mission critical applications, such as VoIP and Video Conferencing.
